COVID-19 making ICEC 2023 safe

The ICEC management committee are looking forward to welcoming attendees to the International Conference on Evolving Cities in Southampton and the conference venue is taking appropriate measures to ensure a safe and successful event.

Social distancing is no longer a legal requirement and if enforced would impact the Conference, therefore, unless guidance changes, ICEC will not be applying social distancing.

Regarding face coverings, we are following government guidance where they are currently discretionary, with recommendation to wear only when (i) you are coming into close contact with someone at higher risk of becoming seriously unwell from COVID-19 or other respiratory infections (ii) COVID-19 rates are high and you will be in close contact with other people, such as in crowded and enclosed spaces and (iii) there are a lot of respiratory viruses circulating, such as in winter, and you will be in close contact with other people in crowded and enclosed spaces.

International Travel

Some international travel restrictions are in place, and attendees must ensure they are aware of, and compliant, with these rules. We ask that all those planning to attend from overseas should undertake their own health risk assessment taking into account their own age and any health conditions or vulnerabilities.
