Virtual Conference Platform
This page provides information on the bespoke virtual conference platform built for ICEC2022. The platform provides our remote audience with all conference content. It also provides both our online and in-person audience with tools to interact with the conference.
Registration is required to access the virtual conference platform. If you have registered, use the buttons below to access the platform and guide document.
To enter the online event you must register. Once completed, we will add you as a delegate to the virtual event platform (please note this involves a manual process and will not be immediate while the conference is live). Click the button below to go to our registration page.
What are my login details?
You should have received an email with instructions on how to join the virtual platform. The email will contain the address you used to register for the conference and the event password. Didn’t receive an email? Check your spam folder and then contact us at evolvingcities@soton.ac.uk.
How do I use the platform?
Remote attendees – log in and explore the following functions of the platform:
- Get involved in the discussion – use the ‘Ask A Question‘ function to post your questions for speakers during each live session. These will be read out for you by the session chair or moderator.
- Engage in the debate – use the ‘Chat‘ function to continue discussions of the talks from each session after the live presentations (and Q&A) have finished. Click ‘Choose Room’ to select the appropriate chat room (most are named to align with each conference session). The chat can also be used to post more general messages to conference participants (use the ‘General’ and ‘Social’ rooms).
- Message other delegates – click ‘Attendees‘ on the side menu to view the other delegates and send a direct message by clicking on the envelope icon next to their name. Click ‘Messages’ (envelope icon) on the side menu to access your conversations.
- Get help – help can be found by clicking ‘Technical Support’ and then the ‘Ask A Question’ tab.
In-person attendees – the platform has a hybrid mode to allow you to listen in person while still accessing the Q&A, chat and other information. Scan a QR code at the venue using your mobile device and enter your name and email address. Alternatively, log-on to the virtual platform and click HYBRID MODE (at the bottom of the welcome page).
